Mojo, Oh Mojo...

... where are you? I can't seem to find you! It's been weeks since my last LO. I need to finish my son's 1st birthday photobook since my 10 free 8x8 photobooks at Artscow will expire in September. Need to to do his baptismal and 1st year photobooks. Oh my gulay! I need to start working or else, I won't have nothing :(

I need to do the following layouts in a 2-page spread: party venue, party program, cake blowing, loot giving and gift opening; this means, 10 pages more. Also, need to finish and revise the following lay-outs: party details, kids and adult guests. A total of 16-pages work load.

Be positive! I know I can do this :) 3 photobooks in 45 days, so help me God:)

BIR

Thank God! I'm done with BIR. I started my week with them and just finished everything today.

I'm the person in-charge of fixing my titas and titos' capital gains and documentary stamp taxes. Actually, I started that last week already. I prepared all the necessary documents before heading to Intramuros. Very tiring but still happy because I've learned and accomplished something eventhough it took me years! hehehe :)

Next step, the Register of Deeds in Manila. Our lawyer told me, she will handle it since its her territory ( She works as a Clerk of Court at RTC Manila). Goodluck Atty. Pascual! =)

Booksale Buys

Now, I'm enjoying going to Booksale and everytime I leave the shop, I always have something on hand. Primarily, I go there to get back issue magazines about scrapbooking. But lately, I'm also into getting cooking, parenting and celebrity magazines, all back issues since they are way cheaper than the new releases. The other day, me and hubby bought 7 magazines for just a fraction of a cost (if i remember it right, total amount is P365) and the magazines were:

* Playhouse Disney (Aug 2010)- for Matteo
* Car Craft (May 2010)- for Roy
* The Oprah Magazine (Jan 2009)
* Parents (July 2009)
* Cooking Light (March & April 2009)
* Creating Keepsakes (July 2009)

I'm looking for other scrapbooking magazines like Digital Scrapbooking and Memory Makers. Hope I can get them in other Booksale branches. And now, I'm starting to read my magazines and looks like we got a good "buys" :)

Jake Cuenca

I can't believe this! Yes, i'm blogging about Jake Cuenca. I can say he is one of my showbiz crush now and thanks to "Rubi", one of ABS-CBN's Primetime Bida teleserye. I'm so hooked with that show that I even searched for live streams so tI can watched episodes that I missed. I love his character as "Alejandro", the very handsome-looking doctor whose very loyal and loving to his family and to his partner, Rubi and now, Maribelle. I'm really drawn to him because of his character; he's the type you want to have as a boyfriend and a husband material. That explains why I dreamed of him a couple of days back hehehe...

The show will end in three weeks time and I promise not to miss an episode. I want to know if he'll be true to his promise to Maribelle that he would marry her. I want to know result of Rubi's "paghihiganti" to Sylvana and what her relationship to Hector will end up. From the trailer, it looks like Alejandro will fall for Rubi again and I'm not in favor of that! I'm for Alejandro-Maribelle and I hope the ending will be favorable to them :) Let's wait and see.

Enough of it. Back to reality :)

Cherry Mobile P1i

Got myself a Cherry Mobile P1i in pink today. It was hubby's gift to me. He promised me that a couple of months back because I really need to retire my Sony Ericsson T610; thanks for the 6 fruitful years :) So, my globe sim will have a new home and I hope their relationship will last for years hehehe...:)

My CM P1i

(sorry for the blurry image; phone cam was used)

Specifications:
* Single SIM dual band
* STK function
* Polyphonic
* Dual band 96 x 49
* 1.2” B/W screen
* Alarm
* Calculator

Not bad for a secondary phone since its very affordable (for only P999) trendy and easy to use, even though it functions for text and call only.

Thank you very much mahal!

My first scrapbooking magazines

Got myself back issues of "Creating Keepsakes" magazines from Booksale at SM City Sta. Mesa. I've been looking for this for a week now and fortunately, I got hold of 2 back issues; June and August 2009. Also, got back issue of "Real Living" magazine.

Will read them and I'll see of it will encourage me to go into traditional scrapbooking and I'm keeping my fingers cross :)

Matteo's new toy

We got him a wooden magnetic building blocks last Friday. Actually, he picked what he wanted. He doesn't want simple peg puzzles, too easy for him I guess. We also got him his 2nd box of smart cube. Yes, he's into educational toys lately and we're happy about that :)

I just took a couple of pictures while he was playing with the building blocks:

The figures in the photos were "penguin" according to him :)

I'm back!!!

Yes I'm back :) After 4 days in hiatus, I'm definitely back. I was out because we lost our internet connection and electricity during the Basyang typhoon last Tuesday. Power came a day after while internet connection came back just today.

What I did for the last 4 days? Made a couple of layouts for my son's photobook; went out window shopping with family and fixed our room a little bit =)

Will post LOs in the coming days. I would like to finish credits first before posting them here.

LO: Birthday Family

The first layout I made with Roy included in the picture hehehe... No choice because the LO is titled as "Birthday Family" so he must be included. And also, the first layout I made that I jot down credits as soon as I used them.

I only placed one photo because that was the only family picture we have during the party! Would you believe that?=) Anyways, I'm still thankful to my brother for being our official photographer eventhough he's only an amateur :)

LO: Frontcover

Made this layout a few days back. I'm thinking if I'll make this as the frontcover of the Matteo's 1st birthday photobook or I'll do another LO:

Comments and suggestions are highly appreciated =)

Update on Matteo

He's perfectly fine now. Back to "kulit" and "daldal" mode. Appetite is back and resumes drinking his vitamins without hesitation hehehe... I can go back on my lay-outs; been absent for 4 days already. Mojo is nowhere to be found =)

Just want to share a video of him when he was about 13 months old; one of our "kulitan" moments =) The video was kinda blurry because phone video cam was used.

Little bit worried :(

I woke up this morning with a bad note; Matteo's fever went as high as 38.9 and he was crying :( I filled-up a small basin with ice and water and performed sponge bath to him to lower down his temperature. After that, he drank milk and ate 1 pc. of chocolate cupcake and then the paracetamol. After an hour, temp went down to 37.4 and then 37.7.

I'm a little bit worried because he was complaining about his throat. He had tonsilitis a couple of weeks back and might be the cause of his fever again. He let me looked at his tonsils and yes, they are pinkish red once more:( I'm thinking if i'll give him the antibiotics now or wait until tomorrow for his pedia? Need to consult Roy first.

My day is over

Time check: 2:24 am; time to go to bed. Just finishing downloading free templates. Matteo's temp as of 1am is 36.6 and hoping he gets better later today. Good night Philippines, good night world!:)

My baby is sick again :(

Matteo is sick again :( He got fever and I don't know why. He was complaining about pain on his right leg and left arm after he took a bath this evening. When I held him, he's hot. So I got the thermometer right away and his temp was 37.7. After an hour, I took his temp again, and it was 37.9. I immediately let him drink paracetamol just to make sure.

As of this writing, Matteo is already asleep but still hot. I'm touching his forehead and neck from time to time. I'll check his temp again by 11pm. I hope the paracetamol will work wonders.

Lord, please keep that fever away :(

Tokwa't baboy

From time to time, I will be posting here some of my recipes :) My own version of a particular dish / menu. Yes, I cook and I love doing it. I should have taken hotel and restaurant management or culinary back in college hehehe...

Anyways, here are photos of my tokwa't baboy:

tofu, boiled pork, white onions and green chillis

fried tofu or "tokwa" in Tagalog

chopped boiled pork ( I like the part with more fat in it =) )

minced garlic, ginger and red onions

the sauce: mixture of vinegar, soy sauce, sugar and a little bit of ground pepper and of course the minced garlic, ginger and onion combo.

the finished product: top with white onions and green chilli

Enjoy!

Matteo singing

Here are videos of Matteo singing. He was in the mood that is why I hurriedly took video of him using hubby's mobile phone. These were taken last month.

ABC

"I love you" and baby bop song

Dibo, the gift dragon and animals mechanicals

Matteo loves to sing. He can easily memorize a tune of a particular song. I think, he inherits his love of music and singing voice to us hehehe...

Matteo solving his puzzle :)

I'm one proud mama! At age 2 years and 7 months, Matteo knows how to solve a 9-inch, 15 pc. Winnie the Pooh and friends puzzle. We just bought it the other night and got hooked on it eversince. Before, he only plays them at Playhouse Disney and Barney sites. So, I thought of buying him a real one and see how he can manage. And now, he was asking me to buy him some more with different cartoon characters on it:) "Anak, kaya mo na kaya yung tig-100 pc.? hehehe..."

Here's a video I took just this afternoon. He sings pa while solving it hehehe:

It will be a great day!

Good morning world! I got a good night sleep. Seven hours is a good number considering I just slept almost 3 hours the other night. I'm rejuvenated! I'm excited to do a lot of things today: continue may LOs, arrange my digital scrapbooking files from the external drive I barrowed from Jay (Thanks again ninong!:)), download digital freebies (thanks to sis Diane for the links!)go to Air21 drop-off site to ship my client's loot, go to BDO, go to the grocery and buy Matteo some supplies, watch Ginebra and Alaska's game 1 of their quarterfinal match later this evening and the list goes on and on but I'm not complaining :) These are blessings and I love it!

Yes, it will be a great and productive day for me. Thank you Lord!

"Did I marry the right person?"

I would like to share this article I've read in one of the threads in Pinoy Parenting. This is worth reading especially to those who are married already and for those who would want to marry someday ... something to think about.

DID I MARRY THE RIGHT PERSON?
By: Bo Sanchez

During one of our seminars, a woman asked a common question. She said, "How do I know if I married the right person?" I noticed that there was a large man sitting next to her so I said, "It depends. Is that your husband?" In all seriousness, she answered "How do you know?" Let me answer this question because the chances are good that it's weighing on your mind. Here's the answer.
EVERY relationship has a cycle. In the beginning, you fell in love with your spouse. You anticipated their call, wanted their touch, and liked their idiosyncrasies. Falling in love with your spouse wasn't hard. In fact, it was a completely natural and spontaneous experience. You didn't have to DO anything. That's why it's called "falling" in love... because it's happening TO YOU. People in love sometimes say, "I was swept off my feet." Think about the imagery of that expression. It implies that you were just standing there; doing nothing, and then something came along and happened TO YOU. Falling is love is easy. It's a passive and spontaneous experience. But after a few years of marriage, the euphoria of love fades. It's the natural cycle of EVERY relationship. Slowly but surely, phone calls become a bother (if they come at all), touch is not always welcome (when it happens), and your spouse's idiosyncrasies, instead of being cute, drive you nuts. The symptoms of this stage vary with every relationship, but if you think about your marriage, you will notice a dramatic difference between the initial stage when you were in love and a much duller or even angry subsequent stage. At this point, you and/or your spouse might start asking, "Did I marry the right person?" And as you and your spouse reflect on the euphoria of the love you once had, you may begin to desire that experience with someone else. This is when marriages breakdown. People blame their spouse for their unhappiness and look outside their marriage for fulfillment. Extramarital fulfillment comes in all shapes and sizes. Infidelity is the most obvious. But sometimes people turn to work, church, a hobby, a friendship, excessive TV, or abusive substances. But the answer to this dilemma does NOT lie outside your marriage. It lies within it. I'm not saying that you couldn't fall in love with someone else. You could. And TEMPORARILY you'd feel better. But you'd be in the same situation a few years later. Because (listen carefully to this): The Key To Succeeding In Marriage Is Not Finding The Right Person; It's Learning To Love The Person You Found! SUSTAINING love is not a passive or spontaneous experience. It'll NEVER just happen to you. You can't "find" LASTING love. You have to "make" it day in and day out. That's why we have the expression "the labor of love." Because it takes time, effort, and energy. And most importantly, it takes WISDOM.. You have to know WHAT TO DO to make your marriage work. Make no mistake about it. Love is NOT a mystery. There are specific things you can do (with or without your spouse) to succeed with your marriage. Just as there are physical laws of the universe (such as gravity), there are also laws for relationships. Just as the right diet and exercise program makes you physically stronger, certain habits in your relationship WILL make your marriage stronger. It's a direct cause and effect. If you know and apply the laws, the results are predictable. .. you can "make" love. Love in marriage is indeed a "decision".. . not just a feeling.

Nice explanation indeed. I think I married the right man; happily married for almost 4 years already:)

Happy birthday JAY!

Happy birthday to our dearest friend JAY! We wish you all the success and happiness that you definitely deserve :) I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for all the help you are generously giving our family; we will never forget that. We love you very much!

We will see you and Ninyah later. Looking forward of eating that sumptuous spaghetti you prepared :)

LO using free template

First time I did a layout with a template. Its a lot easier because all you have to do is to add the necessary photos and elements on the template; you don't to think about the layout perse. Misty Cato's photoshop tutorial on "Using Layered Templates in PSE" was very helpful.

Here is the Cshneider "Simple Pleasures" free template:

And my own version was this:

Any difference? I think I have to revise this one. Hmmmm....

My first 2 page layout

Tried doing this yesterday, a 2-page spread for my son's birthday book. Hope I gave justice to the designers but credits to follow hehehe... I'm having a hard time doing credits because I'm using different kits from different designers! And still have to learn photo editing; need to do a lot of readings

Oh my! This is the reason why I wanted to have my own dslr camera but i don't have moolah right now and still have to think about this all over again. For the meantime, I'll just barrow my brother's Canon :)

Anyways, here's the 2 page lay-out i did:

(credits to follow)

My first attempt on scrapblog

After reading threads and forums about digiscrapping, I subscribe at scrapblog.com and tried a couple of layouts. I did three (3) layouts in less than 15 minutes! It was very easy to use. They have ready layouts for you, with themes and all. You just need to upload photos and drag them to your desired layout and you'll have an instant layout.

This one I did for my husband:

Thanks to scrapblog.com! But I still prefer doing my own layout on photoshop hehehe...
